There is already a plan ‘B’ incase he is not allowed to contest but so far he is in on the ballot,” said a source aware of the matter.Last week Mwendwa, who was first elected in 2016, confirmed that he will be on the ballot during this year’s elections. He still enjoys the support of majority of the delegates who are the branch chairmen allowed to vote.If these branch chairmen are voted back on 9 November, they will most likely vote for Mwendwa or anybody else he picks to succeed him incase he is not on the ballot.Apart from Mwendwa other presidential candidates who will be presenting their nomination papers on Monday are Hussein Mohammed, Tom Alila, Sam Nyamweya, Sam Ocholla, and Cleophas Shimanyula.##NAJAVA_MECA_8412311##On Friday, Mohammed unveiled former international Macdonald Mariga as his running mate in a ceremony that was attended by the who-is-who in sports and political circles. The Extreme Sports Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is campaigning on a platform of a fresh start and has successfully lobbied former international players on his side.By picking on Mariga he hopes to get the support of former international players who have been ignored by previous offices.Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Shimanyula will be hoping to get the support of clubs to bag the top post.
