Mathare United head coach John Kamau has outlined the difference in performance between promoted sides Mara Sugar and his Mathare United this season.Both teams earned promotion to the FKF Premier League after Seller performances in the National Super League (NSL) where Mara Sugar emerged the winners with Mathare United finishing second.While only two points separated the two teams last season, their fortunes and performance this season have been different. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8431868##Mara Sugar have had a decent start to the season; winning three of their five games and now have 10 points to their name. For us, it is a different ball game; a different coach, different players to mean we are starting afresh,” said Kamau.The former Posta Rangers tactician also explained the progress that his team has made after weeks of hard work on the training ground.“There is a way that I would like to see my team playing and that is possession-based football. Phase one is super as I do not think you can put my team under pressure and we fail to come out with the ball. Phase two is also okay. We are working on phase three but I like what I am seeing,” he said.With the league taking a three week hiatus during the last international break, the former KCB coach appreciated the opportunity it offered for him to prepare his side.“Seems the FIFA calendar was strategically built for us. We have had three weeks of working together. The leakage was not so much of a concern though as I prefer to work on the general performance of our team,” he added.
