It seems that Chelsea are back. After hundreds of millions spent on new players since Tod Boehly took over the club and after five coaches, the Blues seem to have finally found some sort of rhythm as they recorded another win today. In the last 10 games in all competition, Chelsea has lost only one game (away at Liverpool), and today their ‘victim’ was their favourite opponent – Newcastle. The Magpies lost the game 2-1, but that’s not something new when it comes to these two teams playing at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have lost just one of their 29 Premier League home games against Newcastle (W21), going down 2-0 in May 2012, and the streak continued today. And who got the most credit for the winning streak? It’s easy, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson. The best England player at the moment, who has been involved in a stunning 44 goals in just 41 league appearances for Chelsea, (scoring 28 and assisting 16) added two more today, as he assisted with the first and scored the second goal today. His fantastic pass in a quick counterattack in the 18th minute allowed Jackson to score the winner (with massive help from clumsy Livramento). The Senegalese striker is also on the hot streak as he has been involved in 13 goals in his last 13 Premier League appearances (9 goals, 4 assists) and just added another goal. But Palmer’s help was needed again since Newcastle equalized in the 32nd minute (Isak) and he delivered beautifully. An amateur Newcastle defence allowed Chelsea’s best player to run towards Pope without trying at least fouling him, and the Magpies’ goalkeeper then allowed himself to concede the goal to his closer corner for the final 2-1. Chelsea was just ‘killing’ the visitors with their fast trio of Jackson, Palmer and Madueke, since Newcastle’s central defenders are both 32 years old and couldn’t cope with that speed. Caicedo also had a chance. Neto hit the woodwork, but the score remained the same.Even thou they played badly and deserved to lose, the visitors still had plenty of opportunities to at least get a draw. Isak’s shot was stopped by James on the goaline, and his next shot was blocked in the 70th minute. But the Swedish striker was so selfish in the 75th minute when he smothered the ball instead of passing it to two teammates who were all alone in the goal area. The Magpies are now in a crisis with three games without a win in the league (two defeats one draw).ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE – MATCHDAY 9Friday Leicester – Nott.Forest 1-3 (1-1)/Vardy 23 – Yates 16, Wood 47, 60/Saturday Aston Villa – Bournemouth 1-1 (0-0)/Barkley 76 – Evanilson 90+6/Brentford – Ipswich 4-3 (2-2)/Wissa 44, Clarke 45+1 og, Mbeumo 51 pen, 90+6 – Szmodics 28, Hirst 31, Delap 86/Brighton – Wolverhampton 2-2 (1-0)/Welbeck 45, Ferguson 85 – Ait-Nouri 88, Cunha 90+3/Man.City – Southampton 1-0 (1-0)/Haaland 5/Everton – Fulham 1-1 (0-0)/Beto 90+4 – Iwobi 61/Sunday Chelsea – Newcastle 2-1 (1-1)/Jackson 18, Palmer 47 – Isak 32/Crystal Palace – Tottenham 1-0 (1-0)/Mateta 31/West Ham – Man.Utd. 2-1 (0-0)/Summerville 74, Bowen 90+2 pen – Casemiro 81/19.30: (2.50) Arsenal (3.45) Liverpool (2.95)
