The National Assembly has cleared outgoing FKF President Nick Mwendwa to run as running mate in the forthcoming FKF elections.This occurred yesterday when the Departmental Committee on Sports and Culture in a session presided over by the Vice Chairperson and Kabete MP Hon. Robert Basil asked the board to ensure that it runs a free and fair elections.Owilla assured the National Assembly that the board has put measures in place to ensure the elections meet all the legal requirements.“The Board has already finished training returning officers ahead of the county elections that commence on 9 November and the presidential polls. “I want to assure the Committee that fake delegates will no longer participate in the elections as it has been before,” he remarked.The MPs also asked Owilla to present to the house the names of the delegates who will vote in the elections to which he said he will present within two days.##NAJAVA_MECA_8477782##All systems go ahead of county pollsMeanwhile on Wednesday, The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Electoral Board confirmed that “it’s all systems go” for the County Elections slated for this Saturday in 44 polling stations countrywide.This is after today dispatching all ballot materials to the counties following the training of more than 100 electoral officials who will act as the Returning and Presiding officers for the County polls.On Thursday, the board will meet the County candidates to provide them with further details and conduct civic education.
