Shabana striker Vincent Nyabuto says he is a relieved man after ending his prolonged wait for his first goal of the season.Nyabuto opened his goal account in the campaign last weekend in their 1-0 win over Kenya Police at Gusii Stadium. It was his fourth in the top tier having scored three times last season. The goal also earned Shabana the very first time in the season and served Police their first defeat of the season.##NAJAVA_MECA_8494769##Nyabuto, who was part of the team that gained promotion last year, failed to score a goal in the past season, a drought that he says, attracted pressure on his side.He is, however, a happy man to have delivered at a time when the team needed him the most.“I am excited to have scored the first goal of the season against a big team. I was under immense pressure to prove myself that I could deliver whenever given the opportunity. I can now focus on the subsequent matches without much pressure,” he said. The 24-year-old was not seeing much playing time in the preceding matches given the competition for playing time. However, the arrival of Peter Okidi as head coach and new backroom staff members flipped the script for Nyabuto as he says, his hard work in training was duly rewarded with a start against the law enforcers.“I had not scored due to limited playing time. I have been scoring a lot of goals in training from the time a new coach came in. He rewarded my efforts with a start against Police and I am glad I used the opportunity well,” he stated.Having handed his team, the first win of the season, the Leopards Youth team graduate has pledged to add more goals to his name and lift the team from the relegation zone.“The team and fans can count on me for goals,” he added.
