New injury for Arsenal, Isak responds to rumors

Not good enough performances, tough schedule, a number of injuries…things are not looking good for Arsenal at the moment. The international break came at the right time as captain Martin Odegaard is finally back after a two weeks ankle injury, along with Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu. But now Ben White is expected to be out for at least six weeks after undergoing minor surgery on a knee issue. It‘s been an ongoing issue and the international break was a great opportunity to deal with it. Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka also have injuries and have been removed from the England team, but nobody knows will they be available after the break.Gunners and Red Devils in a “Battle for Sane”January transfer window is close and the Gunners are yet to make their move, but one player they certainly won‘t target is Alexander Isak. Newcastle striker is one of three ‘untouchable‘ players, along with Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon. But, unlike the other two, the Magpies have not been in negotiations with the Swedish striker over a new deal. And since Arsenal needs a top quality striker to challenge City for the Premier League title, they were eying Isak for over a year now. And the Swede finally answered questions about a possible Arsenal move.“Throughout my career, I have never talked about or really commented on the move rumours during the season. There have been many such years where it has been talked about. It doesn’t affect me. I am commenting on my situation in Newcastle, and I have never had any problem there. I am fully focused on my task there and that we will have a fantastic season. There are still great opportunities for that. I have no thoughts about anything else“ Isak told Fotbal Skanalen. He became a billionaire after leaving Arsenal and could buy the Gunners nowBut despite his diplomatic response, the fact remains that Newcastle are within PSR rules (just) and even cannot afford to give Isak a new contract. He still has three years remaining, but if the Magpies don‘t finish in the top six this season, then Arsenal might get their chance to sign Isak. He wants to play European football and if Newcastle don‘t play in any UEFA competition and still don‘t have the money to offer him a better wage…UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE – GROUP STAGEDivision AThursday 22.45: (2.50) Belgium (3.45) Italy (3.00)22.45: (1.13) France (9.00) Israel (17.0)Friday 22.45: (4.70) Denmark (3.50) Spain (1.80)22.45: (1.27) Portugal (5.90) Poland (10.5)22.45: (3.40) Scotland (3.40) Croatia (2.15)22.45: (1.85) Switzerland (3.60) Serbia (4.80)Saturday 22.45: (1.15) Germany (8.00) B&H (16.0)22.45: (1.40) Netherlands (4.70) Hungary (8.00)Sunday 22.45: (3.40) Italy (3.35) France (2.30)
