Sharks frustrate Odemba’s bid to steer Kenya Police back to winning ways

Kenya Police FC extended the dismal run in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, despite making changes in the technical bench, as the club was held to a barren draw by Kariobangi Sharks on Friday at Dandora Stadium.Police disbanded the technical bench in the build up to the match, as a way of arresting the poor run and preventing further unwanted results, but the team could not get back to winning ways.A one-all draw against the 2009 league champions Sofapaka and a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Shabana triggered club bosses to fire the Anthony Kimani-led technical bench.Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba was handed the mandate to prepare the team for the clash against Sharks, and most importantly, help in saving the day. However, in what was her first match as a head coach in the top tier, Odemba could not steer Police back to winning ways, partly due to the short preparation period she had and how Sharks did business on the pitch.##NAJAVA_MECA_8519597##Despite failing to lead the team in gathering maximum points, Odemba will have her name in history books as she became the second female coach to steer a male team in the top flight. Odemba, doubles up as the Kenya Police Bullets, an outfit owned by the alw enforcers, head coach. It remains to be seen whether, she will be incorporated in the men’s technical bench on permanent basis.
