Youssoufa Moukoko is facing a life crisis, the one which can effect not only his personal life, but his football career too. Since moving to Borussia Dortmund from St. Pauli as a 16-year old boy, he scored goals and caught attention to himself not only due to his scoring abilities. He latter admitted that he found it difficult to totally focus on football during those early debates about his age and that Dortmund youth coach Sebastian Geppert helped him a lot, as he was already thinking about leaving football. But those debates just got worst until this December his father admitted in front of cameras that he is not Moukoko father and that he is not 20 years old, but 24.💣 𝐁𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐙𝐎 | La edad y el padre de Moukoko son falsos.😳🙃 El que hasta entonces era su padre ha desmentido serlo, además de afirmar la falsedad de su edad:🗣️🫣 “Youssoufa no es hijo mío. En realidad nació el 19 de julio de 2000. Lo hicimos cuatro años más joven”. pic.twitter.com/fh4CqVj6iL— Afición Deportiva (@AfDeportiva_) December 13, 2024 In the ProSieben documentary “Tricks, Cheating, Deception – The Million Dollar Business with Football Talents”, footballer‘s alleged father Joseph Moukoko gave a statement.”Knowing that it is a criminal offence to make a false affidavit, I (…) declare under oath: Youssoufa Moukoko is not the biological son of me and my wife Marie Moukoko. Nor was he born on November 20, 2004 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. I got him a false birth certificate in Yaoundé. I then went to the embassy and got him a passport and then took him to Germany as my son. (…) He was actually born on July 19, 2000. We made him four years younger. Now he was born on November 20, 2004″ he said.Moukoko’s real birth certificate found, he is 22 after allThis new statement rose the same dilemma which happened back in March 2023, when it was reported that ‘Bunte’ came into possession of the baptismal certificate from Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, where Moukoko was born and the date of his birth was recorded as July 19, 2000, and not on November 20, 2004, according to the official version. And now Jospeh Moukoko basically confirmed that. As far as Borussia Dortmund is concerned, they are playing by the rules and so far, nothing has been officially changed so….”In the case of Youssoufa Moukoko, the biological parents are identified by official identification documents and birth certificates issued by a German authority. These documents are still valid today and are the basis for playing authorizations and permits for clubs, whether domestic or foreign, and of course for association selection teams such as the German U21 national team” BVB told Bild.
