KCB head coach Patrick ‘Luwowo’ Odhiambo heavily criticized and blamed centre referee John Sulwe Oriaro for their 2-0 loss to Shabana on Sunday at Gusii Stadium.Goals by the on-form Brian Michira and Austin Odongo in the 29th minute and 92nd minutes respectively were enough to grant the Glamour Boys victory.Reacting to the loss a visibly angry Odhiambo termed the calls made by Oriaro an insult to modern football.##NAJAVA_MECA_8572262##He, however, did not highlight some of the calls he deemed unfair when pressed for answers.“I just have one thing to say, there is still work to be done. For match officials, there is still work to be done(sic). For today’s referee, there is still work to do (sic). It is a big shame. In this century and time, that is shameful,” said Odhiambo in his post-match address to the press. The former Kakamega Homeboyz coach took issue with Oriaro’s temperament and how quick he was in cautioning his players whenever they approached him.He labeled”Felt like a loss”: Ambani frustrated after Ingwe drop points yet again“I cannot say anything about tactics. There is nothing tactical or technical, it is the referee (sic). In football, people train the whole week to come and compete, look for three points, and entertain the fans but what are these?” he posed. The referee acted like a policeman on the field. You cannot even talk to him. He was just issuing unnecessary cards,” he added.Odhiambo is not the sole tactician to have raised concerns on the levels of officiating in the league this season as a host of his colleagues have been petitioning FKF to look into the issue.KCB head coach Patrick Odhiambo couldn’t hide his frustration with the officials who oversaw their match against Shabana at Gusii Stadium, where the bankers lost 2-0. pic.twitter.com/hiylpdaxEe— Meshack Kisenge (@kisengemeshack1) December 15, 2024 The soft-spoken tactician said turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to the issue works against the efforts being made to improve the competition.“We are making the competition lose its value. Those are things that were done in the past, not now,” he said. The Bankers are winless in five consecutive league rounds having shared points four times and lost once.
