McDonald Mariga, Victor Wanyama identify key ingredient for growth of Kenyan football

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice President McDonald Mariga and former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama have expressed their hope for the growth of Kenyan football.For a long time, football stakeholders have lamented the stunted growth of Kenyan football and possible ways to make amends.With a new FKF regime in place, stakeholders’ hopes have been revived with the huge burden of expectations to steer Kenyan football to greater heights placed on the new office.FKF postpone National Executive Committee meeting, announce transition taskforceThe two Wanyama brothers have identified a key ingredient that will provide an enabling environment for the growth of the game.Speaking during the Wadau na Otuoma tournament, the former Harambee Stars midfielders identified unity as key in the football industry.Hundreds of thousands collected in Wadau na Otuoma Tournament“If you see how people turned up in large numbers, it means the football industry is united and it is that unity that we need as stakeholders in both good and bad times,” said Mariga.On his part, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Wanyama called for more such initiatives, even on joyous occasions, as a way of bringing people together.“This tournament also brought people together. People meet friends who they maybe saw 10 years ago.
