AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda has announced the timelines for the club’s elections to find a new chairman following his election as a Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Committee (NEC) member for Nairobi.Shikanda was elected to the NEC in the FKF national elections held in December 2024.##NAJAVA_MECA_8632815##With his election, his position as the club’s chairman is no longer tenable, and he was therefore expected to resign as the club’s head.With AFC Leopards fans and football stakeholders eager to know when the 1998 league champions will have a new chairman, the former AFC Leopards player said the members will decide through an election in either May or June 2025.“We will be having an election in May, or at the latest June, to effect that change of guard, and I am appealing to all lovers of AFC Leopards to come out and vie for these seats because they are very important for the club and require serious individuals,” said Shikanda.Shikanda explained that he has not resigned from his position because he wants to oversee a smooth transition and hand over the reins to a duly elected chairperson.“I cannot hand over the club to just anyone. We have to go through an election.
