Former Sauti Sol artist Bien reveals three football teams he supports

Grammy Award-winning Kenyan artist and songwriter Bien-Aime Baraza has revealed the three football clubs he supports.Bien opened up on his little-known love for football and the clubs he supports during the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) draw held on Wednesday night at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).The former Sauti Sol vocalist performed in the event that brought the African football family to Nairobi for the draw, conducted by three East African legends; McDonald Mariga, Hassan Wasswa, and Mrisho Ngasa.##NAJAVA_MECA_8640797##His electric performances wowed the fully-packed Tsavo Ballroom with those conversant with the lyrics singing along with him.Afterwards, the Grammy Award-winning artist disclosed that he is an avid AFC Leopards fan and supports record Tanzanian champions Yanga in the neighbouring league.In the English Premier League (EPL), Bien identified Arsenal as his favourite club.“I am an AFC Leopards fan. The club traces its origin to my village in Kakamega (sic). I am an Arsenal and Yanga supporter,” opened up the Inauma hitmaker.McDonald Mariga rates Harambee Stars chances at CHANPressed on why he supports Yanga over their bitter rivals Simba, Bien said the club’s strong association with the ordinary citizens attracted him when he first set foot in Tanzania.Yanga, who are bidding for their fourth straight league title, are commonly referred to as Wananchi (Citizens). The club is home to Kenyan midfielder Duke Abuya. “In Tanzania, I asked which team resonates well with the ordinary citizens and they told me Yanga. The idea of pre-tournament or match favourites no longer exists in football. We are playing at home and I trust we have good players. Tanzania and Uganda have also been placed in fairly good pools and I believe East African teams will perform well in the tournament,” he added.
