No plans to retire: Perez to lead Real until he is 81 years old

It couldn’t have been anyone else. As long as he is alive, Florentino Pérez will likely remain the president of Real Madrid, and the fact that the 77-year-old Spanish businessman won the club’s presidential election for the fifth consecutive time on Sunday confirms this notion. Pérez first served as Real Madrid’s president from 2000 to 2006, before Ramón Calderón took over from 2006 to 2009. However, Pérez returned to the position in 2009 and has held it ever since. With his new mandate, he will remain president until January 2029, at which point he will be 81 years old.🚨 Florentino Perez was the only candidate in the Real Madrid President elections. Former Wolfsburg president Francisco García Sanz has joined Real Madrid’s board of directors following Pérez’s re-election as the sole presidential candidate. The club also confirmed the appointments of two other new board members: Manuel Redondo Sierra and José Ángel Sánchez.Las Palmas tickle the King and suffer demolitionGarcía Sanz served as Wolfsburg’s president from 2009 to 2018 and had been part of the Bundesliga club’s board since 2004. However, they will now take on greater responsibilities at the club. Both have been linked with Real Madrid since 2000 and will effectively become the second and third most important figures at the club.LA LIGA – MATCHDAY 20FridayEspanyol – Valladolid 2-1 (1-0)/Puado 31, Fernandez 74 – Sanchez 57/SaturdayGirona – Sevilla 1-2 (1-0)/Martinez 36 – Saul 59, Lukebakio 88/Leganes – Atl.
