Posta Rangers goalkeeper Bixente Otieno has lauded Gor Mahia goalkeeping coach Boniface Oluoch for his efforts after picking up a career-threatening injury at the start of the month.Otieno bore the brunt of a nasty head collision between him and Gor Mahia leftback Geoffrey ‘Simiti’ Ochieng when the two sides faced off at Dandora Stadium. The two players were vying for an aerial ball, late in the second half, with Ochieng arriving slightly late in the challenge and consequently, he inadvertently caught Otieno. So bad was the collision that Otieno was treated on the pitch before being wheeled to Metropolitan Hospital in Buruburu for scans and treatment.##NAJAVA_MECA_8736097##Driven by sportsmanship, Ochieng and a handful of Gor Mahia players made their way to the facility shortly after the game to show solidarity with the injured colleague.Initially, medics had recommended surgery to repair the depressed skull but was later advised against the procedure by a specialist, believing it would heal on its own.Otieno told Mozzart Sport that a specialist had advised him to start training in the first week of March after subjecting him to all necessary tests on Friday last week.”Last week, I walked to the hospital for checkups and tests. The doctor said I was free to start light training from next week,” revealed the former national U20 team custodian.
