After Manchester’s, Ratcliffe annoys Nice fans too

Sir Jim Ratcliffe was a well known figure in the UK even before he became the Manchester United’s minority owner. A well know Brittish billionarie (due to his involvment in oil business) has invested in sports through his INEOS firm before. He owns French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice and Swiss Super League side FC Lausanne-Sport and is the third equal owner of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. INEOS made his mark in cycling as their team, Ineos Grenadiers, won seven Tours de France between 2012 and 2019. But, since aqquirring Manchester United’s stakes and taking over the sporting sector, he is crumbling his reputation on a daily basis.Kobbie Mainoo leaving Manchester United would not surprise me. INEOS and Glazers are in this together. Look at Nice under Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Utd need serious owners who prioritize football for real. Until then Utd will never be back. Just dreams & talk.pic.twitter.com/EE0Np7KAh4— Kyama (@ElijahKyama_) March 27, 2025 Is it because he is now more in the media than ever before and people are seeing his true nature, or if Manchester United football club tends to bring out the worst out of people, but his statements tend to annoy more and more people. While it’s easy to get a few positive points from the fans by criticizing his owns players (’some of our players are overpaid and not so good’), Ratcliffe mostly annoyed the fan base by raising ticket prices even thou the results were bad but also by sacking low paying club’s workers, sticking with Erik ten Hag and then sacking him while paying big compensation fee.Can you believe it? A fourth-division team knocked the former champion out of the cup!All that time, his other club, French team Nice was spared from his statement. But recently, Ratcliffe finally mentioned them as well, and annoyed them instantly.’I don’t particularly enjoy going to watch Nice because there are some good players, but the level of football is not high enough for me to get excited’ he said, and his statement ehoed through France.Manchester United looking for African-descent young star?Nice’s coach Franck Haise, who did wanders with a small club Lens a few years ago is now in charge of Ratcliffe’s club and is fighting for a Champions League place, as his team is fourth in the league.“The article appeared in was a lot more complete than that. But he hasn’t seen a Nice match this season. He’s speaking a bit more about what he saw at another time. With the people who are here at the club, we are here to make the club progress in order to be even better. It’s not that serious. We can be annoyed, that’s obvious. But is it really worth staying annoyed for a long time? We have got to keep working, enjoying ourselves and we have got to be doing the best possible. We have to move on and continue on our path“ said Haise, trying to be as much diplomatic as he can.
