Luka Modrić is buying a minority stake in Swansea City. According to the reports, one of which is Fabricio Romano, the deal is already finalized. Importantly, this decision does not affect Modrić’s plans to stay at Real Madrid. He’s under contract with the club until the end of the season and hopes to extend that for another year. However, it’s still unknown whether Real intends to offer him a renewal. Modrić will turn 40 in September, staying at the club far longer than most predicted. While Real Madrid usually avoids handing new contracts to players of advanced age, the last time he renewed, it was widely agreed that his performances and dedication earned him that privilege. Modrić has been at Real since 2012, and he now holds the club record with 28 trophies won.🚨💰 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 | Luka Modrić is set to become a minority owner of Swansea City, reports @FabrizioRomano. 🦢✅Swansea City are a Welsh football club who compete in the EFL Championship, the second tier of the English football. 🏴🏴 pic.twitter.com/dFQA1lvqyd— EuroFoot (@eurofootcom) April 14, 2025 The cost of the investment as well as the number of shares bought is currently unclear. Modric is set to join Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris and Jason Cohen as part-owners of Swansea. The club changed ownership in November 2024 after Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan sold their 74.95 per cent share to end their eight years at the helm. American businessman Coleman is now trying to bring the funds and promote Swansea to the Premier League, where they played from 2011 until 2018. The famous Welsh club currently sit 12th in the Championship table, eight points off the play-offs, with four games of the season to go. They are currently without a permanent manager following the sacking of Luke Williams in March, with Alan Sheehan in caretaker charge.##NAJAVA_MECA_8850145##
