Muluya eyeing revenge against Gor Mahia in Mozzart Bet Cup quarter-final

Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya is seeking revenge against Kenyan giants Gor Mahia when the two teams meet in the quarter finals of the Mozzart Bet Cup.Sharks advanced to the quarter finals after eliminating Denmark FC, while Gor Mahia saw off Bandari FC to book a place into the last eight.Speaking after their match against Denmark at the Mbaraki Sports Club, Muluya said the game gives them an opportunity to avenge the home and away defeat to K’Ogalo in the FKF Premier League.Follow Our WhatsApp Channel For More News ⏹️ 𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐀 𝐔𝐌𝐄𝐊𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐀Kataa tuone wewee#WeAreSharks #MozzartBetCup pic.twitter.com/dwtl2NWe4l— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) April 12, 2025 “Gor Mahia have won six points against us in the league, and I would love to use this tournament as a shortcut to continental football and revenge,” said Muluya. In his assessment of the game, the former Harambee Stars assistant coach admitted to feeling pressure after Denmark took the lead early in the first half.“We had a scare in the match, especially the first half, and I think experience carried the day for us.They defended well in the first half but looked a little tired and scattered in the second half,” he added.##NAJAVA_MECA_8859626##Muluya was particularly wary of Denmark’s ability to eliminate top tier teams, after the team shockingly knocked out Gor Mahia in last season’s edition.“Before the game, we knew it was a tournament and anything could happen. Denmark has a history of eliminating top tier sides which brought the scare,” explained Muluya. After Denmark had taken the lead in the first half, Sharks fought back in the second period to win the match 3-1, courtesy of an equalizer from Biko Otieno, a penalty from Ghai Panchol, and an Ally Salum goal in second half stoppage time. That is some finish by Ally Salum#WeAreSharks #MozzartBetCup pic.twitter.com/tQEB18kwT3— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) April 14, 2025 “I want to thank the players for fighting hard and especially Biko for bringing us back to the game. Scoring from a corner in such a match was the turning point,” Muluya said.Sharks are angling to lift the Mozzart Bet Cup after previous success in the 2018 edition of the tournament.Latest update on Kasarani Stadium after CS Mvurya visit [VIDEO]
