Jackson gives Chelsea the win after 13 wasteful games

Since the iconic manager David Moyes returned for the second time to Everton, the Toffies got an energy boost and created some results along the way. The result of the initial euphoria, was that Everton lost only one in their first 10 league games, but recorded two defeats in the last four, mainly due to the fact that they played Liverpool and Manchester City. The current team is full of wholes and needs forward power, and that’s the main reason why Moyes managed a stunning six draws since he took over. So when Aston Villa, Newcastle, Forest and Manchester City fans sat in front of TV today and hoped for another draw against Chelsea, they were harshly disappointed. The Blues, who have the toughest remaining schedule out of all these clubs profited from completely wasteful Toffies and recorded one of the easiest wins this season: Chelsea – Everton 1-0.🚨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Nicolas Jackson goal against Everton ⚽⚽⚽ pic.twitter.com/FQuvCWzIVD— Eddie Chelsea (@eddyabel34) April 26, 2025 Burdened with average performances in times of need, Chelsea players were under pressure from the home crowd as they need a win in almost every game until the end of the season, but luckily for them, Everton did absolutely nothing to make this game tough for them and with only two real chances in the entire match should be ashamed of themselves. The tactics of keeping it tight at the back and relying on counter attack failed miserably as the only goal came from a sloppy work in midfield which allowed Nicolas Jackson to score the winner after 13 games and four and a half-months of constant misses. Enzo Maresca, who served a touchline ban will be very relieved even thou his team didn’t played great, but the battle for the Champions League football is very much alive. Chelsea also remained unbeaten in their last 29 Premier League home games against Everton since a 1-0 loss in November 1994.FT: Chelsea 1-0 Everton David Moyes has now won just ONE of his 77 Premier League away games against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd (W1, D21, L55). 👀#CHEEVE | @bet365 | #Ad pic.twitter.com/cWLjGIam8D— Squawka Live (@Squawka_Live) April 26, 2025 The only goal happened in the first half, where Chelsea had two great chances and turned one of them into a winner. Pickford made a great save after a fantastic shot from Madueke in the 14th minute, but also made a clumsy clearance 12 minutes later, nearly allowing the hosts to score. But in the 27th minute he was helpless. Beto couldn’t keep hold of the ball on halfway, allowing Fernandez to pick up possession and feed Jackson on the edge of the box, and the striker scored with a low drive into the bottom left-hand corner.Maresca to Palmer and Jackson: “You need to score for UCL”The second half started with another good chance for the home team. It was Madueke again (after an assist from Neto), while but Pickford was on the spot again and turned the ball into a corner. Finally Everton did something meaningful after a full hour of football as Beto took a powerful shot but Sanchez acted brilliantly to save it. The guests had one more similar situation, just two minutes before time, but Sanchez saved McNeil shot brilliantly. Madueke didn’t have luck in this game as his third good shot was saved by Pickford in the 79th minute.
