Players working hard to sweeten Nzoia Sugar’s top-flight status

Nzoia Sugar FC assistant captain, Humphrey Katasi is adamant that his team will soon turn its fortunes around after suffering yet another defeat in the hands of KCB on Wednesday at the Ruaraka Grounds. The struggling Bungoma-based Millers went down 2-1 despite having taken the lead in the game in the 19th minute through Elvis Ronack. KCB responded through Reagan Otieno and Simon Abuko to win the game that unluckily didn’t secure them Caf Champions League football as Tusker downed Ulinzi in Nakuru. In his post-match interview, a dejected Katasi said that they deserved to get something out of the closely fought game but is adamant that they will soon turn things around and return to winning ways.Matokeo Ligi Kuu nchini 🇰🇪✅ Bidco United 1-1 KK Homeboyz✅ City Stars 0-1 Wazito FC✅ Western Stima 0-1 Sofapaka✅ Gor Mahia 0-0 Bandari✅ Vihiga United 1-2 Mathare United✅ KCB 2-1 Nzoia Sugar FC✅ AFC Leopards 0-1 Kariobangi Sharks ✅ Ulinzi Stars 1-4 Tusker FC pic.twitter.com/wJjtxX2yPD— Mozzart Bet Kenya (@mozzartbetkenya) June 30, 2021 “This is a tough one to take because we really played well today. We created more chances than them and a draw maybe would have been acceptable, but for me, this is a game we should have won,” he told Mozzart Sport.”I am positive that we will soon start winning again. Because for me we are not playing badly, we get undone by small mistakes which we should look at but overall we play well and dominate matches and so we just need work on the small things that have been costing us and we will be good to go,” he added.Nzoia had three penalty appeals turned down in the second half and their goalkeeping coach Peter Mwaura was particularly critical of referee Peter Waweru and Katasi equally felt that some decisions didn’t go their way.”As a team, we feel we should have had at least one penalty awarded to us but it wasn’t given. Again it’s the referee who makes calls and if he feels that we didn’t deserve then there’s little we can do about it. We go back to the drawing board and plan again, hopefully, we get the points next time, “he concluded.
