Sanjin happy with a point against a tough Bandari

Nairobi City Stars coach Sanjin Alagic has said that he is comfortable with picking a point against Bandari FC at Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday where they played to a one-all draw.Sanjin noted that it is not easy picking a point from Mbaraki, adding that they are a decent side that had just piped Kariobangi Sharks 4-1 in their last home game, terming them a dangerous opponent. He went ahead to heap praise on his charges not only for the great fight against Bandari but also for the superb performance the league returnees have displayed this season so far.”It’s always hard to go to Mombasa and play against a good Bandari team, I am satisfied with the point we collected on Sunday. Just a few days before we played them, they played with Sharks at home and beat them, scoring four goals. That tells you how much a dangerous opponent they are. I want to congratulate my players for a good game and great fight against a good Bandari side and other obstacles we had in that match. We have posted really good results this season and I am happy with our performance in general,” Sanjin said.FULLTIME SCORESBAN 1️⃣ – 1️⃣ NCSWe leave Mbaraki with a point#𝕊𝕚𝕞𝕓𝕒𝕎𝕒ℕ𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚 pic.twitter.com/9sS5JhGNFU— Official Nairobi City Stars Fc (@NrbCityStars) July 4, 2021 The Bosnian also said that Simba wa Nairobi stood the chance to bag all three points had they taken their clear-cut chances in the second half, while at the same time dismissing the penalty awarded to Bandari and terming it a ‘gift’.”We started the second half well and scored a wonderful goal. We had crucial moments in the game and an amazing opportunity. If we scored from those chances probably we would have taken all three points. Bandari were awarded a penalty which was a “gift” for them in my opinion,” Sanjin added.City Stars have had a good season managing 33 points from 23 games so far this season which leaves them seventh on the log. They have also set a club record of five wins in a row with wins against Sofapaka, Kariobangi Sharks, Western Stima, Kakamega Homeboyz, and Nzoia Sugar.
