Wazito FC defensive stalwart Johnstone Omurwa is relieved to break his scoring duck and eyes more in the remaining matches of the season. The central defender got his first goal of the season on Sunday against Posta Rangers at the Thika Sub-County Stadium when he nodded home from a Kevin Kimani corner kick delivery in the opening stages of the game. Francis Nambute later canceled the goal to ensure the spoils were shared. In an interview, Omurwa expressed his delight at ending his goal drought. He added that the goal ‘had been coming’ and now wants to find the back of the net more often“The goal has been coming, I have hit the post severally, got denied by keepers and I had told my teammates that I would score soon and I am glad that I finally found the back of the net, I should have scored two because I got another good opportunity but unfortunately, I did not utilize it hopefully this will be the first of many to follow before the season comes to an end,” he told Mozzart Sport. The ⚫️ and 🟡 yellow army, we match on 💪#Wazito4Life pic.twitter.com/F2v806mZX3— Johnstone Omurwa (@JohnstoneOmurwa) July 2, 2021 Reflecting on the game against the Mail-men, Omurwa admitted that his team rode on luck at some point as Posta created many good chances which they did not take.“They had some very good moments in the game, created many good chances but we defended well and denied them. They had their good moments just like us but in terms of chances created they had the best but we did well to deny them and got a point from the match.
