Will goal-shy Vihiga get one over Wazito?

Relegation threatened FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) side, Vihiga United will be looking to cause a major upset when they face Wazito FC in an FKF PL match at the ASK Grounds in Nakuru on Friday afternoon. The hosts are in the red zone and will be keen on getting maximum points from the match, Wazito as well want to close on the leading back and the game against the strugglers is a good opportunity for them to get the three points.  This is a match that other relegation battling teams will also be closely following hoping that Wazito prevail. Mathare United, Western Stima and Nzoia Sugar will all have one eye in the game hoping that United does not win the game to increase their chances of cheating on the drop. Vihiga are currently 16th in the log with 16 points. Wazito on the other hand are 9th in the log with 31 points. It’s Match Day#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/k8oO0sf6Tp— WAZITO FOOTBALL CLUB (@wazitofc) July 9, 2021 Vihiga United’s problems largely emanate from their inability to score goals. The team has found the back of the net ten times in 16 league matches. Their attack is the worst in the league, bottom-placed Mathare United have scored seven more than them. Their backline is equally poor as they have let in 27 goals. Wazito have scored 20 and conceded 21. The first leg between the two teams ended 3-1 in favor of Wazito at the Utalii Grounds. It was Francis Kimanzi’s first triumph as Wazito FC coach and the match in Nakuru is an opportunity for them to get a double over United for the first time ever. United midfielder Lawrence Luvanda understands that they need to start getting wins soonest.“We are in a bad position and we surely need to start getting wins consistently. The match against Wazito is a tough one but we have to give a good fight and hopefully get a positive result,” he said.
