Kenya defender sent off in the US as Marcelo bags assist

Kenya defender Nabilai Kibunguchy was unfortunate to be handed his marching orders in the first half as his 9-man Sacramento Republic FC fell 2-0 to Orange County in the United Soccer League (USL) Champions on Sunday.Kibunguchy was trusted with a starting berth after he was an unused sub in the barren draw against Oakland Roots last time out but started in the 1-1 draw against San Diego Loyal a fortnight ago.The defender was shipped out on loan to Sacramento Republic from Minnesota United who ply their trade in the Major Soccer League after he was picked in the Super Draft back in January.Final. #SACvOC pic.twitter.com/Ay8IbKnj7k— Republic FC (@SacRepublicFC) July 11, 2021 Orange County had a blistering start to the game as they broke the deadlock in the seventh minute through Beez who was put through on goal by Nathan Smith.Beez then turned provider in the 37th minute with Brian Iloski getting to the end of his pass to doubled Orange County’s lead.Kibunguchy was sent off in the third minute of added time as he was handed a straight red card for a dangerous foul on an Orange County player.Sacramento were reduced to nine men 11 minutes from time as Mitchell Taintor was shown a second yellow card as they were left with a mountain to climb if they were to salvage something from the game.Kibunguchy’s side however managed some damage limitation in the final 10 minutes of the game as they kept the score at 2-0 as Orange County walked away with maximum points.Sacramento are in a torrid run of form as they have gone nine games without a win and have picked up only three points from the three draw in the run. Eric Marcelo OumaKenyan international Eric Ouma chipped in with an assist to aid his AIK side to a 2-1 victory over Varbergs in the Swedish top tier league to end their four-match winless run.TACK för i går. Filip Rogic bagged the match-winner with 13 minutes left on the clock via a bullet header following a beautiful delivery from Eritrean forward Henok Goitom.
