TV madness has just taken its toll – Italian Serie A ban green colour kits

Italians have obviously never read famous Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca and his highly respected poem “Green, How Much I Want You Green”.Because they’ve declared a war to green colour on Thrusday afternoon.Serie A decided that green colour kits won’t be allowed in the Italian top flight starting from the 2022/2023 season, which could heavily affect US Sassuolo, whose club colours are dominantly green and black, but also SS Lazio and some other outfits which prefer green as their away shirt colour. This will soon be a history… Sassuolo’s green and black shirts (©©Alessandro Sabattini/Getty Images)TV companies largely dictate the change amid fear that green kits are too similar to the pitch, leading to players becoming indistinguishable from the turf (?!). Clubs have been given an entire year to rethink possible solutions for their kits, whit no chances of withdrawing the decision whatsoever.Lazio have to change the away kit (©Getty images)Albeit this change seems hugely awkward, it’s fair to say that there are also many colourblind TV viewers or people with some eye problems, and for them, the green colour is the most difficult to register and causes lots of issues while watching football games. No upsets in Italian Serie A, except for that Inter fizzy-wizzy kitBut what’s the solution for poor Sassuolo? TV just killed a part of their identity just like that…
