Sakari a week away from injury comeback

Kariobangi Sharks will have to wait a little bit longer in order to get back the services of right back Daniel Sakari who has been recently missing in action through injury. After returning to training nearly two weeks ago, the Harambee Stars defender is set to add a further week to his rehabilitation to avoid any lapses of a recurring ankle injury that has plagued the defender and kept him in and out of the team particularly in the second half of the season.Since 20th June, the former Green Commandos defender has not made an appearance thanks to an ankle injury that has repeatedly kept him from the team.Initially, the full-back had been ruled out for two weeks on the eve of sporting activities resuming in the country back in May after he picked up a knock in training that forced him to miss the first two games against his former employers Kakamega Homeboyz then Ulinzi Stars.💛| Daniel Sakari is not your normal wingback 7️⃣ Appearances 2️⃣ Goals scored1️⃣ Assist💬| How do you think this season will turn up for the lad?#WeAreSharks#betwaykenya pic.twitter.com/zBIcFPUlRq— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) January 11, 2021 But after sitting out for two weeks, the player managed to get five consecutive games both in the league and cup, where he helped his side get to the quarter final stages, before he suffered another setback that has ruled him out since then.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, the player revealed that it is only a matter of looking after the injury that has added a one week timeframe to his return otherwise he is fit.“I will not be available for selection for one more week. Although I am fit, this is just to fully rehabilitate the injury that has been recurring for some time but I expect to play in the coming week,” he said.It is expected that should he be ready, Sakari will slot straight in the starting lineup.
