Idah set to leave Bandari next month

The search for playing time has compelled rugged Bandari centre back Sosthenes Idah to consider leaving the club next month when his contract expires.Idah joined the Dockers in August 2019 from Kakamega Homeboyz apparently to offer competition to the trio of Felly Mulumba, Bernard Odhiambo and Brian Otieno the central defence. The Harambee Stars trialist managed to get playing time under coach Bernard Mwalala and his predecessor Kennedy Odhiambo as well as the club’s technical director Twahir Muhiddin.Sosthenes Idah, “I am very ready to face my former employers!” Idah has managed to get the nod as the first center back three games and has pulled a string of good performances in all of them. “I am ready, am very prepared!” – Idah pic.twitter.com/9Jesfad1i8— Bandari FC (FR) (@BandariFCFR) December 9, 2019 However, Idah has found limited playing time under coach Andre Casa Mbungo and hence will not renew his contract when it elapses next month. “I feel my time is up at Bandari. There are slim chances that I will renew my contract which expires next month. I desperately want to play consistently from next season. I have been patiently waiting for my chance under coach Mbungo but time is not on my side as the season is about to end and so is my contract, ” he said. The towering defender who last played for the former Cup holders against Homeboyz in January revealed that the latter who are keen to reunite with him will face stiff competition for his signature from a unnamed Tanzanian club.Idah joined Homeboyz in November 2018 from the defunct Thika United who by then were in their final season in the top flight before they were axed to the second tier. It is at Thika where the defender who had a stint in Finland earned his maiden Stars call up when coach Sébastien Migne summoned his for qualifier match against Ethiopia.Sosthenes Idah will captain the team today with the absence of Badi and Mutinda who are with suspension and fatigue respectively.Kick off momentarily…— Thika United FC (@ThikaUnitedFC) September 30, 2018 “Homeboyz have expressed interest in my services but haven’t tabled an offer yet. There is also a Tanzanian club that has been in communication with my agent. I will only make up my mind when my contract at Bandari ends and I am furnished with a release letter, “he disclosed.
