Spurs have bolstered their midfield and dispensed of an unwanted player – all with a single deal. Lamela becomes the last of the seven to leave Spurs. He spent eight years at White Hart Lane and Tottenham Stadium, but in all that time, he never really managed to establish himself as one of the club’s key players. The 29-year-old Argentinian joined from Roma in August 2013 and made 257 appearances in all competitions. He has had his moments of pure brilliance but was often marked as a liability.
