Leopards get boost ahead of Mashemeji Derby

AFC Leopards have received a boost ahead of this weekend’s Mashemeji Derby following the return of Brian Wanyama from injury.Wanyama missed the last two matches against Nzoia Sugar and Western Stima after picking a knee injury during their 2-0 loss to Tusker two weeks ago.The second leg revelation had established himself as a pillar in the midfield before the setback which saw him undergo a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to allay fears of a possible lengthy stay on the sideline. His return has proven timely as coach Patrick Aussems had from time to time complained on having a lean squad thanks to injuries and the absence of three players who have been with the national U23 team in Ethiopia.Exclusive: One on one with AFC Leopards’ latest revelation Brian Wanyama https://t.co/BgoFJ6cktg via @MozzartSportKe— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) July 9, 2021 Wanyama who made his bow for the club last month revealed that he had began training on Tuesday and was ready for his second Mashemeji Derby game having clocked full time in the FKF Cup loss suffered in the hands of their nemesis early this month.”I am back to the team after two weeks out.
