KCB hoping to replicate opening day win against Posta with golden trophy in sight

KCB FC will continue their surge for the title when they face off with Posta Rangers at Thika Stadium in the early kick-off of the Thika double-header this afternoon from 1PM EAT. Derrick Otanga, Henry Onyango, and Enock Agwanda were the tormentors-in-chief when KCB played Posta Rangers on the opening day of the league this season.Since then, Otanga has scored nine more with Onyango taking his tally to three. Agwanda on the other hand has not been part of the team for the better part of the season. For Posta Rangers, a lot has changed in both the playing unit and the technical bench. Stanley Okumbi joined the team together with his assistant Collins Korea Omondi and they have beefed up the squad the best way they know how.Posta 0-3 KCBClinical by KCB,Goals for all their major no. 9’s (Otanga,Agwanda,Onyango)Posta looked a bit flat going forward and did not create much for their forwards.Much work for Pamzo to do at the training ground. #BPL#FKFPL— Steve Ruigu Njuguna (@Joashnjuguna) November 29, 2020 But, it will be Korea who will be on the touchline later today with Okumbi being away in Ethiopia with the Emerging Stars. The Zedekiah Zico Otieno charges are now just one point away from Tusker with 54 points, and that is enough motivation ahead of this game. They will definitely want to win each of their remaining games and hope that Tusker will drop their guard along the way.Posta are 13th on the log with 28 points but Korea maintains that they are still deep in the relegation thick, and they are not yet safe.”We are not safe. To guarantee our safety we must get 44 points and we, therefore, have to win games. The only way to deal with this solution is to make sure we get three points in matches. We cannot say that we are safe, we are still fighting relegation,” Omondi told Mozzart Sport. While Posta have the second most blunt attack, scoring only 18 goals this season, KCB have the meanest defense and have conceded only 18 and will be hoping to shut out Posta completely.🏆| The @BetKingKenya Premier League Trophy is here Who will take home this gong?@tusker_fc @KCBFootball @k_sharksfc @wazitofc @FcHomeboyz @BandariOfficial @OfficialGMFC @NrbCityStars @UlinziStarsFC @FC_Sofapaka @BidcoUnited @FC_Sofapaka @posta_rangers @MathareUtd #BKPL pic.twitter.com/Yfltp5Katx— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) July 29, 2021 In the last 10 meetings between these two teams, KCB have been the dominant side, winning in seven of them and drawing in the other three.Posta Rangers come into this game on the back of a five-game winless streak, seeing them remain13th on the log, and they will be hoping to upset the Brewers on their title charge.KCB on the other hand, have gone for 8 games without losing a game and will want to continue the same streak, perhaps even replicate their performance in the first six leagues games in the last six, starting with Posta.
