Juma heaps praises on his defenders despite Bidco defeat

Western Stima’s tactician Abdallah Babu Juma has praised his defenders for a solid showing despite going down by a solitary goal against Bidco United at Thika Stadium on Friday.Going into the Bidco game, Stima had conceded at least two goals in their last five outings; a 2-0 loss against Vihiga United, a 2-1 loss to Ulinzi Stars, identical two-all draws against Kariobangi Sharks and Nzoia Sugar, and also conceded two goals as they beat AFC Leopards 3-2.Juma pinpointed Bravo Otieno, who had not played this season, for his brilliant performance, saying that his partnership with Mukisa Junior was solid in that game, and revelled at the fact that they did not concede many goals unlike in other games.”The defence played well. Bravo and Mukisa played well. It was not like previous games where we were conceding many goals. Today I appreciate them because they played well. However, we did not attack the way we normally attack. In the first half, for instance, we only had one corner and Bidco had five corners. We did not have a good fighting spirit. We played like we did not have any strategic plan for the game. However, my defence played well despite the changes, it was the first time for Bravo this season and he played really well,” Juma noted.Full TimeBidco United FC 1-0 Western Stima Fc⚽ Eric Gichimu It’s a successful hunt for us. We have played away several times, we do not have time to play at home but when we get time to play at home in the next outing I know we will change the results. We are going to work and see whether we can get that win against KCB at home then come and work at Thika Stadium against Posta Rangers and see if we can win, but I know the players can work for that,” he added.Stima are placed 15th on the log but are just one point above Vihiga United who are placed in the relegation play-offs position and any slight mistake would see the Kisumu-based side slump to that zone, or even worse as Mathare United are just three points away from Stima, and with a game in hand.
