Matano banking on Tusker’s strong mettle against Bandari

After suffering a blip in the title race, Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano is counting on his side’s impressive performance against top opposition when they face Bandari on Wednesday.Tusker are winless in the last two games after a draw and loss against Mathare United and Nairobi City Stars respectively, a run that has seen KCB who are breathing down their neck slash their lead to a single point at the summit of the log.Matano is however confident his side’s knack of turning up in big matches will carry the day when they face Bandari at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Wednesday.📍| Mombasani hawayuni 👌👌#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/53dyW4jRNm— Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) August 3, 2021 “We prepare for the game as usual, there is no difference from the rest of the games, the morale is high and meeting Bandari is enough motivation to the players. Tusker rises to the occasion against big teams more often and Bandari is one of them so the team is ready and rearing to go,” said Matano in an interview with the club’s communication department. The two sides settled to a barren draw in the first leg with Tusker boasting a superior head to head record in the last five games drawing twice, winning twice and losing on a single occasion. The former AFC Leopards head coach added that losing is part of the game and welcomed the timely return of Henry Meja and Boniface Muchiri who were on national team duties with the Emerging Stars.See who’s back.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/gO7lqvyq71— Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) August 2, 2021 “It is normal in football, it does not mean that when you lose you have committed a crime, when you lose you accept the results because it has already happened. You build it from there and try and win,”“They are reliable players( Meja and Muchiri), their fitness levels are good and they have played a number of games so far we are happy they are back, those are our players we know we have to work with them and we have missed them,” added Matano.
