Not over until it is over for KCB in FKFPL title race

KCB’s midfielder Brian Rio Ochieng is confident that they will outmuscle Tusker to take the title challenge all the way to the end and lift the trophy at the end of the season.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, the former Kayole Youth midfielder said that they are fighting to get the maximum points for the remaining five games to increase their chances of emerging league winners at the end of the season.Ochieng’ also noted that they were targeting the CAF Champions League ticket but lost it to Tusker, adding that they are not ready to lose the Trophy to the Brewers as well.”We are ready to battle (with Tusker) until the last game, there is no time to lose hope. In the remaining games, we are fighting to get the maximum points and finish strong. We have five games left and our target still remains to finish as number one this season. We were targeting the CAF ticket but it did not come to be, so now we focus on the trophy, being the champions of the league this season,” Ochieng’ told Mozzart Sport.RioBrian Ndenga Ochieng, KCB FC.26 June 2021.#footke pic.twitter.com/KktXhFQGZH— Footballers Of Our Time (@TransferMarktEA) June 28, 2021 Rio is sidelined for at least one week after suffering a hamstring injury in their shocking loss to Posta Rangers at Thika Stadium last week. The midfielder initially feared that he had torn his hamstring but after undergoing a scan to reveal the extent of his injury, it was discovered that it was just a pull and the damage was not as much as it had been thought.”I went for a scan and fortunately the hamstring had just pulled, it was not a tear as I had feared before. I was given a prescription of the exercises that I should be doing, and that is what I am working with at the moment. So far the response has been good and I expect to be back may be in a weeks time,” he added. The midfielder has been a key player for Zedekiah Zico Otieno’s side this season, featuring in all the 27 matches that they have played so far and offering the much-needed cover in midfield.29’| Sub @KCBFootball Ochami comes in for an injured Brian NdengaKCB 0-2 Posta#BKPL pic.twitter.com/tSJZoRx81N— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) July 30, 2021
