NSL: Three Bullets puncture Talanta’s promotion dream

Promotion hopefuls FC Talanta have been dealt a huge blow in their quest to near the rights to play in the top flight after suffering a 3-0 defeat in the hands of Vihiga Bullets at the Bukhungu Stadium.Prior to the match, the Kasarani based club was seeking to move to two wins adrift of elevation but the well oiled Bullets had other plans after making good use of home comfort to fire three unanswered goals past the visitors goalkeeper.Jackson Oketch was the first to pull the trigger successfully in the 42nd minute after breaching the defence line which had stood tall for almost the entire half.The breather came as big relief to Talanta who were under pressure from the hosts, giving them an opportunity to mount offensive attacks in the final half.However, former Chemelil Sugar forward Lucas Waitere had other plans after doubling Bullets lead in the 58th minute.Philiph Mwangale, another ex Chemelil player put the icing on Bullets cake after scoring in the 79th minute. The result leaves Talanta perched at the top with 61 points, six ahead of second placed Fortune Sacco.Elsewhere, Silibwet Leons returned to their winning ways after narrowly edging Murangá Seal by a solitary goal at the Bomet grounds.
