Tusker FC will be seeking to maintain the top position when they host Kakamega Homeboyz in an FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) match at the Ruaraka Stadium in Nairobi on Thursday afternoonThe Brewers lead the league by the virtue of having a better goal-difference than KCB who will be taking on bottom-placed Vihiga United at the Mumias Sports ComplexHeading into the game, Tusker have not been on a great run of form but last week they labored to down a struggling Sofapaka to end their two-match losing streak. Homeboyz on the other hand have lost their last two games to Gor Mahi and Bandari and they will be hoping to end the poor run with a result against the league leaders at Ruaraka Stadium. In the last five games, Tusker have picked two wins, a draw, and two losses. Homeboyz on the other hand have lost three and won two games. The first leg between the two teams ended in a 1-0 win for the Brewers.🥶🌨️| Final training session ahead of tomorrow’s tie at home against Homeboyz.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/DdlUnjJWQK— Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) August 12, 2021 Tusker have no fresh injury concern to worry about heading into the game, Homeboyz on the other hand will be without Christopher Masinza and Moses Mudavadi, both picked injuries against Gor Mahia a fortnight ago and have since been ruled out for the remainder of the season.Tusker coach Robert Matano admits his team is feeling pressure in the title race but they are trying to contain it.“Every team is under pressure but we have to control it, remain composed if we are to win. The race for the league title is still on and we remain focused, a match at a time,” he said. Homeboyz’s assistant coach Bernard Mwalala is keen on seeing his team bring the poor run to a halt.“We definitely want to bring the bad run to an end because it will not be a good thing for us to lose three games in a row. We have not been playing our usual game and we have been working to get back to our playing style – once we get there we will start winning games again,” he said.“I think the pressure is one Tusker because they are up there and are fighting for the title, but that does not give us an advantage because some teams work well under pressure, we just have to stick to our game plan and try to frustrate them and win the game. The target is to get all the points from the match,” he added.
