Sierra Leone youngster scores his maiden Premier League goal in a Chelsea win

The Champions League winners are off to a good start in the Premier League. The Blues had an easy game with a weak Eagles but it doesn’t mean that they took the game easily, they even scored three goals (none of them by a striker): Chelsea – Crystal Palace 3-0.Thomas Tuchel’s men were a clear favorite and they didn’t disappoint, as they controlled the game from the first minute. Crystal Palace, led by a former Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira are among relegation candidates and today they showed why. Even their fans didn’t expect a win, but to have only one shot on target during the 90 minutes just shows everything you need to know.Chelsea scored after almost 30 minutes, after having possession but no real chances. After a free kick from around 25 meters, Marcus Alonso had a wonderful shot which went straight into the top right corner for the lead. The second goal came after almost 20 minutes later, when Palace keeper managed to get the hold of Mount’s low cross but didn’t catch it, and Pulisic was there to tap in for 2-0.

Chelsea continued with the same rhythm in the second half, before their academy youngster born in Sierra Leone Trevoh Chalobah, a Premier League debutant, took a pass from Kovacic and smashed a brilliant strike into the far corner for the final score.

The Blues have nearly sweated for this one, and they did it without their record signing, Romelu Lukaku, who is currently in self-isolation, following the Covid-19 protocole, but Thomas Tuchel already announced that he will start in Round 2, when they meet their North London rivals Arsenal, who managed to lose to newly promoted Brentford.PREMIER LEAGUE – Round 1FridayBrentford – Arsenal 2-0 (1-0)/Canos 22, Norgaard 73/SaturdayManchester United – Leeds United 5-1 (1-0)/Fernandes 30, 54, 60, Greenwood 52, Fred 68 – Ayling 48/Everton – Southampton 3-1 (0-1)/Richarlison 47, Doucoure 76, Calvert-Lewin 81 – Armstrong 22/Chelsea – Crystal Palace 3-0 (2-0)/Alonso 27, Pulisic 40, Chalobah 58/Burnley – Brighton 1-2 (1-0)/Tarkowski 2 – Maupau 73, Allister 78/Leicester – Wolverhampton 1-0 (1-0)/Vardy 41/Watford – Aston Villa 3-2/Dennis 10, Sarr 42, Hernandez 67 – McGinn 70, Ings (p) 90+6/19.30: (7.50) Norwich (4.60) Liverpool (1.43)Sunday16.00: (3.15) Newcastle (3.30) West Ham (2.30)18.30: (5.20) Tottenham (3.70) Man.City (1.70)***odds are subject to change
