NSL Wrap: Promotion battle intensifies as Kibera Black Stars and Fortune Sacco even out

The battle to play in the top flight Football Kenya Federation Premier League in the 2021/2022 season was blown wide open in the National Super League after a midweek match played on Tuesday afternoon between second placed Fortune Sacco and Kibera All Stars left only six points separating a team in second from a team in sixth. The one point earned from the barren draw, saw Fortune Sacco lose ground in the title race as they stayed in second place on 56 points. A position they could lose if third placed Kenya Police, who are on 54 points, win their tie against log leading FC Talanta who have 64 points.Kibera Black Stars on the other hand stayed fourth with 53 points.Silibwet 0-2 Migori YouthIn Bomet Stadium, two first half strikes from Ben Stanley and Olanreweju Isiaka ensured Migori Youth secured their tenth win of the season that temporarily propelled them to 12th position on 40 points. Silibwet stayed 16th on 39 points following the defeat.MCF 2-3 APS BometVisiting side APS Bomet left it late against MCF before stealing all three points on offer in a five goal thriller played at Thika Stadium.Eric Michubi gave MCF the lead with a strike in the 17th minute but Wasai Philips restored parity in the game just two minutes after restart of the second half. In an immediate response, Kevin Ochieng’ restored his side’s lead just four minutes after the equalizer to put MCF in the driving seat up until the final ten minutes when everything came crumbling down.
