AFCON 2021: Nigeria, Egypt pooled in same group as Algeria face Ivory Coast

The draw for the postponed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have been completed in Yaounde, Cameroon on Tuesday evening. This is how the 24 teams have been pooled.Group A – Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Cape Verde.Group B – Senegal, Zimbabwe, Guinea, Malawi, Group C – Morocco, Ghana, Comoros, Gabon.Group D – Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan, Guinea Bissau.Group E – Algeria, Sierra Leone, Equitorial Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire.Group F – Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, Gambia.The 33rd edition of the continental showpiece will kick off from 9 January to 6 February 2022 in Cameroon. The tournament was moved from June 30th 2021 to January 2022 after the novel covid-19 disrupted the initial plans.The opening match of the tournament (Cameroon vs Burkina Faso) and final will be played at the newly built Olembe Stadium in Yaoundé which has a capacity of 60,000.
