Distraught Ouma set to walk out on relegated Western Stima

Western Stima midfielder Rodgers Ouma is a beaten man following his team’s relegation from the FKF Premier League on Wednesday.Stima’s defeat to Wazito FC in Nakuru coupled with Vihiga United’s triumph over Kakamega Homeboyz and Mathare’s win over Ulinzi Stars confirmed Stima’s drop to the second tier. Much of the team’s troubles were down to financial issues, since Kenya Power pulled out last year, the team is yet to nail a new sponsor, and players and technical bench members haven’t received their dues in months. One of the bright sparks in what has been an underwhelming season for the Kisumu-based outfit is Ouma who is the latest young talent to come out of Stima. He scored five league goals for the Juma Abdallah-coached side and provided a couple of assists, he however never believed that his team would go down.“I definitely feel terrible because I never believed that we would go down, suffering relegation is a bad tag that sticks with you throughout your career. We fought hard but didn’t do well in some matches and in the end, the reality is we are relegated and we have to live with it,” he told Mozzart Sport.Another goal for Western Stima youngster Rodgers Ouma, he’s in great goal-scoring form. He’s clearly working hard to join his dream team, Tusker FC.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/qLF6LgKglv— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) July 13, 2021 Ouma has confirmed that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season. The youngster has attracted interest from Gor Mahia but he says they have not formally approached him.“I will leave Stima after the final match of the season. I do not have any offers yet but I hope to find another club soon,” he added. In an earlier interview, Ouma has expressed his desire to play for Tusker FC terming the Brewers a dream club.“Ever since I started growing up, my dream has always been to join and play for Tusker. That has always been the case since I was in my childhood and the hope is that one day I will probably get to play for them at some point,” he said.
