Western Stima dynamo set for CAF football after joining Tanzanian club

Western Stima winger Baron Oketch has confirmed that he has left the club and is set to move to Tanzanian side, Biashara United.Oketch leaves the team following their relegation from the FKF Premier League. Stima went down on Wednesday after the loss to Wazito FC in Nakuru, the result coupled with Vihiga’s triumph over Kakamega Homeboyz and Mathare’s win over Ulinzi sealed the fate of the cash-strapped side.The speedy winger, who rediscovered his form this campaign after struggling for the last few years has left Stima for the second time, this time for Biashara United. United, who will be playing in the CAF Confederation Cup next season are coached by former Western Stima assistant coach Patrick Odhiambo.“It is true I have left Stima, Biashara gave me a good deal and the fact that they will be playing in the CAF Confederation Cup next season made things easier, it is everyone’s dream to play continental football and I am looking forward to it,” he told Mozzart Sport.Following Western Stima’s relegation from the FKF Premier League, Stima winger Baron Oketch is set to join Tanzania’s Biashara United.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/dEQtKPSGqs— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) August 18, 2021 Oketch has had two successful spells with Western Stima, he first joined the team in 2013 after sitting for his form four exams at Kakamega High School. Three years later, Gor Mahia came calling in June 2016, he lasted at Gor for half a season before joining Ulinzi in January 2017, six months later he ditched Ulinzi for Bandari and after another half a season with the Dockers he moved to Ushuru FC in January 2018.In mid-2018, he returned to Stima he struggled before getting a second breakthrough in the 2020/21 season and it has now earned him a move outside the country.“I want to thank Stima, they have twice offered me opportunities to excel and I will eternally be grateful to them. When things looked bad in 2018 they offered me another chance and this move is a result of the second chance they gave me, I want to thank them and wish the team well in their future assignments,” he added.Stima’s last game of the season will be against Mathare United on Sunday in Kisumu but Oketch will not be available for the game.
