Kenyan defender earns victory in Danish league

Kenyan right-back Daniel Anyembe had a late cameo as his Viborg side put the sword to Aarhus in a 2-0 win to end their four-match winless streak in the Danish Superliga.Anyembe joined the club back in July from Danish second-tier side Esbjerg, penning a four-year deal that expires in the summer of 2025.The 22-year-old played his entire career at Esbjerg, earning his first professional contract back in 2016 after featuring for the junior sides and made his debut in November that year in the Danish Cup.3 velfortjente point☘️⚽️🦅 pic.twitter.com/LZAhP8Wdnd— Viborg FF ☘️ (@viborgff) August 22, 2021 Viborg made their early dominance in the match count as they were handed a penalty when Yann Aurel Bisseck brought down Sebastian Gronning Andersen inside the penalty area.Jacob Bonde stepped up to take the penalty and he held his nerve to slot the ball in the middle of the post to a fool of the keeper who opted to dive to the left side in the 16th minute.Viborg doubled their lead 10 minutes later when Nigerian winger Ibrahim Said’s trickery and quick feet was just too much for the Aarhus defence as he went on a solo run to curl the ball into the back of the net.⏸ Pause på Energi Viborg Arena, hvor stillingen er 2-0 #vffagf pic.twitter.com/AxecyDisAj— Viborg FF ☘️ (@viborgff) August 22, 2021 Anyembe was introduced in the 84th minute for Frans Dhia Putros as Vibrog aimed to hold on to their win and end their torrid run of form that saw them lose three straight games and draw once. This is Viborg second win of the season which elevates them to seventh on the 12-team log as they seek to move out of the relegation group.
