Kariobangi Sharks release ten players

Days after confirming that there will be a major overhaul in the team, Kariobangi Sharks coach William Muluya has parted ways with ten players and is set to rebuild again from scratch ahead of the 2020/21 FKF Premier League campaign that starts in a month’s time.The team, that finished fifth in the FKF Premier League last season will commence a major rebuilding process after letting go of some of their key players who either have offers on the table or will commence the process of looking for a new employer.In an interview, Muluya had stated that he is going to build another team from scratch with the main focus being on promoting players from their famed youth team.“We have decided to let some players join other teams, we are going to let a good number of players so that we can also give the young ones from our youth teams a chance to impress. I am ready to work again for the next two years to build a solid team again, I built the current team from scratch and I am willing to do it again,” he said after his side’s last match again Sofapaka on Sunday. Kariobangi Sharks have parted ways with ten players. Brian Bwire, and Daniel Sakari head to Tusker while James Mazembe, John Kuol, Joshua Onyango, Peter Lwasa, Ibrahim Kitawi, Ibrahim Ochieng, Robert Onyango and Peter Oudu leave on mutual consent. #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/5bxaHWSBKM— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) August 24, 2021 Among those leaving are goalkeeper Brian Bwire and right-back Daniel Sakari who are heading to Tusker FC. Winger James Mazembe who registered ten assists this season also leaves the club. Defender John Kuol is said to be relocating to Australia.Young central defender, Joshua Onyango, winger, Peter Lwasa, and veteran midfielder Ibrahim Kitawi also depart. Young midfielder Ibrahim Ochieng who joined the team in February from Western Stima leaves the club as well. Striker Robert Onyango who joined the team at the start of the season from Lake View FC in Busia departs too. Completing the list is Peter Oudu, a midfielder Sharks acquired in 2018 from Dagoretti High School.
