Rampant Udinese hammer Serie A new boys Venezia as champions Inter leave it late to break Verona

Udinese carried on their encouraging start to the new Serie A season with a comfortable 3-0 win over Venezia on Friday which follows up on their opening weekend draw with Juventus.Goals from Ignacio Pussetto, Gerard Deulofeu and Nahuel Molina gave Udinese, from the far north-east some 100 kilometres from Venice, gave Luca Gotti’s side a deserved three points after a dominant display against their promoted rivals.

It was two goals in as many matches for Deulofeu, who also scored the equaliser last weekend when Udinese came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Juve.

Later on Friday champions Inter conceded the first goal against Hellas Verona at Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi. Coming into this match, Hellas Verona had failed to beat Inter Milan since 1992. That run continued here, as Joaquín Correa’s debut double secured a 3-1 victory and all three points for the reigning champions.
