Juma sets target after guiding Talanta to the Premier league

After securing a return to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) , FC Talanta forward David Juma has laid bare his sky-high ambitions of muscling for the ‘Golden Boot’. Juma flopped massively during his time at Tusker after arriving at the club from Bidco United at a time when he was firing from all cylinders in the second tier. After failing to impress at Tusker, Juma who at some point was drafted in the Harambee Stars team found a soft landing in the second tier again, joining Ushuru where he rediscovered his form before switching to Talanta at the start of the concluded season. Juma wrapped the season with a brace as Talanta beat Rongai Combined 2-0 in the final day at the Gems Cambridge grounds on Sunday. Talanta were supposed to play Gusii United FC but the latter dished a walkover. “I am returning to the top flight a mature player. I have gained experience for the years I have spend in the National Super League and comes back to the elite level with an eye of winning the golden boot,” he said. Meanwhile, Talanta head coach Ken Kenyatta revealed that he will deep into the transfer market and strengthen his squad ahead of their debut season in the top flight. The experienced coach however said he will not ring wholesome changes, a mistake promoted teams have repeatedly done and got punished for. Talanta sealed a place in the FKFPL after finishing top of the log with 72 points and were on Sunday joined by Vihiga Bullets. “The second tier is different from the top flight and thus, I have to sign some players to beef my current squad. The changes will not be many as I have experienced players who have played there before and know the demads,” he said shortly after the coronation ceremony.
