Barley four days after Tusker FC unveiled Shami Mwinyi as their new signing, the club has been embroiled in a transfer saga with Kakamega Homeboyz who are accusing the club of plater tapping. The two clubs are however issuing conflicting information with Homeboyz maintaining that Tusker FC did not follow the due procedure when signing the midfielder. The Brewers on the other hand are protesting their innocence in the deal as they had an agreement to pay Homeboyz the two months salary left in Mwinyi’s contract. Yesterday Homeboyz called me and were threatening to take us to FIFA for player tapping but I wrote a letter stating that we will clear the amount by next week and apologised,” said Obiny. Tusker have since deleted Tweets announcing Shami’s arrival at the club with the agreement between the two clubs not involving any transfer fees but just to settle the two months wages. On his part, Homeboyz Chairman Cleophas Shimanyula accused Tusker of player tapping and vowed to punish the club for failing to follow the due procedure. 🎥|Shami Mwinyi. That strike for @FcHomeboyz against @UlinziStarsFC #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/qi12aAWlYe— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) September 3, 2021 “We will not forgive Tusker for what they did, they unveiled a player and even posted photos of him with a Tusker jersey yet he still had a contract with Homeboyz that lapses at the end of the year,”“The player is currently in Djibouti and I have engaged my advocates to pursue the matter, we will punish them for player tapping, they could have followed due procedure in signing him,” said Shimanyula. The Chairman added that he wants the incident to serve as a lesson to Tusker and will issue a communication on the way forward for the player on either his return or either the Brewers settlement. ##EDITORS_CHOICE##
