Okumbi tips Timothy Otieno to improve Posta Rangers

Posta Rangers head coach Stanley Okumbi has labeled new signing Timothy Otieno as a role model after the mail men secured the signature of the former Gor Mahia man from Sofapaka in the open transfer window. In a season that saw Posta finish the 2020/2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season among the lowest scoring teams as they only managed twenty five goals in 32 games, Okumbi expressed confidence in getting Otieno’s signature, a player who finished the premature 2019/2020 season as the league’s top scorer with fourteen goals during his time at Tusker.Timothy Otieno headlines Couriers’ new recruitsDespite being pleased at landing the player who has also had stints out of the country, Okumbi who doubles as the U23 Harambee Stars head coach was quick to state that Timothy has to first prove himself on the pitch in order to provide the guidance the relatively young and inexperienced squad that the mailmen possess.“Of course he is an experienced player but still he has to get on that field and show that he has what it takes to play. We went for someone who is experienced because when you look at our squad, we have a host of young players in the team. We needed someone like that and in Timothy the youth can learn from him. The best thing he can do is to be a role model to the youngsters who can now learn from him and help us in the attacking department where we struggled in front of goal,” the head coach told Mozzart Sport.
