Kariobangi Sharks have completed the elevation of two of their junior players to the senior team, and the two are ready to battle it out with the big boys when the league resumes later this month.The club has confirmed the promotion of Isaac Wasambo and Geoffrey Onyango from the youth side to the senior team. The two have passed through Sharks’ junior sides, that is the U-17 and the U-20 teams, and their elevation is being viewed by the club as a step up the Sharks ladder.They were among the four youngsters who were named in the matchday squad for the clash against Vihiga United with the other two being Mathew Kibiwott and Ian Omondi.Onyango and Kibiwott featured in that game, coming on in the 71 and 60 minutes respectfully with Wasambo and Omondi being unused.Since then, Onyango went on to make seven other appearances with the team and is the player of the two to have commanded more playing time.On the other hand, Wasambo, a midfielder, was named on the bench twice but featured only once in the concluded season, having been introduced in the 68th minute in the last game of the season against Sofapaka.Sharks chairman lauds impact of having junior sideSharks have already brought in Henry ‘Gaucho’ Juma, Fortune Omoto, midfielders Enock Wanyama and Ken Kyalo, and Striker Ryan Ashiono.
