Rangers still keen on beefing forward line

Despite sealing the transfer of 2019/2020 league top scorer Timothy Otieno, Football Kenya Federation Premier League side (FKFPL) Posta Rangers are still seeking to bolster their attacking ranks according to head coach Stanley Okumbi. In the just concluded season where they finished in 13th place on the log with 36 points, Posta finished the 2020/2021 campaign as the second least scoring team as they only managed to find the back of the net twenty five times in the 32 league matches they played, an average of less than one goal per match.Okumbi tips Timothy Otieno to improve Posta RangersAhead of the 2021/2022 campaign that is set to commence at the tail end of September, Okumbi, who also doubles up as the national U23 head coach is keen to head into his first full season at the mailmen with the striking headache as a thing of the past.“We needed a seasoned striker who had experience in the league, that is why we went for Timothy Otieno. But Otieno alone will not solve our striking problems as that was not the only problem. The fact that we struggled in front of goal showed that we were not creating enough from the other positions as well. Still, we have work to do because we need other guys who can score apart from the striker. We will still go for more attack minded signings,” Okumbi told Mozzart Sport.Posta Rangers have made four more signings.Timothy Otieno joins from Sofapaka, Chrispinus Onyango has been roped in from Tusker FC while Kennedy Owino joins from Western Stima.
