Akwana vows to clean Mathare of relegation scum next season

He is adamant that the team will not battle the drop next season.“I anticipate an exciting season with Mathare and possibly our performance will be good compared to last season. It will be a newly transformed team which will fight to be among the top teams in the league,” he told the Daily Nation.The Slum Boys are yet to resume training and the tactician has been sharpening the players he picked from the trials he has been conducting. On his team’s transfer business, he says he will majorly acquire players from the lower tiers. He believes that there many yet-to-be identified talents in the lower leagues.“The players are still on holiday and I can only assess and announce who to sign and drop after our pre-season training sessions which begin Monday. However, if I have to acquire new players, then they will come from the lower leagues.
