Japan has hosted Olympic games in 2021 and they’ve had enough – they dropped their commitment to host the 2021 Fifa Club World Cup in December this year, following Covid-19 pandemic they encountered during the Games and all the negativity from the public. And now, South Africa will bid to be the host of the tournament. SA Football Association president Danny Jordaan has now confirmed to AP that the Southern African country is interested in hosting the Club World Cup, and will talk with FIFA secretary general Fatma Samoura in Nigeria to discuss the bid. This means that anyone travelling to South Africa from England would have to quarantine for 10 days upon their return to the United Kingdom, which could heavily impact Safa’s hopes of hosting the event.
