Kakamega Homeboyz are interested in signing highly-rated Vihiga Bullets central defender, Potiphar Odhiambo, Mozzart Sport can report.Odhiambo was instrumental in guiding Bullets to the FKF Premier League after finishing second in the National Super League. His good performance for the club got a huge reward when he was named National Super League defender of the year and MVP and in the process walked home with over one million shillings.A number of clubs are now trailing the player, among them Homeboyz who are keen on pairing him with his former teammate Sylvester Owino at the heart of their defense. The two played together at Bullets before Owino moved to the Kakamega-based side at the start of last season.Bullets CEO Collins Juma however does not see why the player should move to Homeboyz. He says a move to the Bernard Mwalala coached side may deter his development and that they will guide the player on what’s best for his career.“We do not see why he should be moving to Kakamega Homeboyz yet we are also playing in the FKF Premier League. We know that they approached him but we will try and guide him so that he sees why it is important for him to play here, he needs more playtime to progress and grow and he can only be assured of that here, at Homeboyz he may go there and get benched and that will be detrimental to his career,” he stated.National Super League MVP, Portipher Odhiambo#NSLAWARDS pic.twitter.com/VkMtsaYPDV— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) September 15, 2021 He says if the player was motivated by the monetary gains he would get at Homeboyz then he already has enough money earned from the National Super League gala.“If it is about money then he has over one million from the National Super League gala, that is some good money and now he should focus on his career, he has to be careful about moves that he makes because as a young player he should be playing week in week out to realize his full potential,” he added.Bullets are currently preparing for their top-flight bow.
